Pullman at Swedish Childrens' Fesitval
Posted on by

Philip Pullman is among those taking part in London’s first ever Swedish cultural season for children, to be launched next week. The programme includes five productions at South Bank children’s venue The Unicorn Theatre and nine rehearsed readings of specially translated plays at venues including the National and Polka theatres. Pullman is a patron of the Unicorn Theatre and helped with its inception & construction; whilst he has previously appeared at the Gothenburg book festival in Sweden. Read more.

You can hear Philip talk about the season on BBC Radio 4.

FIRST COMMENT OH YEAH. Why can't they have an Israeli festival? Not saying Sweden ain't cool cause it is, but whatever.

Would like to go to this, but transport on Saturday is not forthcoming (silly network rail). Pullman should have lots to say (he seems to like Swedish children's literature) but I can't quite see Mankell's purpose. Everytime I've seen him, he's been fairly dull verging on himself being utterly bored… Still, should be fun 🙂
