November 2008…maybe Book of Dust will be out by then!

  2. The Bard says:

Hmm…I wonder is Mr. Pullman has been working on anything else, or if he actually even wants to do the Book of Dust…or has he given into fan pressure…dono, id really like to see something new soon…

  3. Ian says:

No, it's Pullman's pattern to work on a long book, then a short book, and so on. If we discount Lyra's Oxford, it's gone from Amber Spyglass, to Scarecrow's Servant. It's fair to assume Book of Dust is the next big on. In October he made it fairly clear that he would now be concentrating on writing it, so yes – he might have written and released it by this literary festival!

  4. Alewyn says:

So, what exactly do you think Pullman will be doing at this festival?

  5. Ian says:

Same as in Gothenburg I expect. Naturally he'll alter the things he says (he seems to go by themes) and he'll be championing some specific cause then – but he'll do the usual lecture/s and interviews and whatnot. Er – can I volunteer to interview him again? 😉

  6. Alewyn says:

Now wait just a minute, Ian.
2008: I'll be college-looking, there are colleges in England that I'll be looking at; maybe I can go to this festival…and interview Pullman… 😉
