Yeah, Roger could have any skin color and Lyra could look NOTHING alike.

But if it's Asriel then Lyra would have a mixed skin color and it doesn't happen in the book.

GIVE THE GUUY A BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whether he's your ideal Roger or not, it doesn't mean you've all got the right to have a go at what he looks like - he can't help that. All that counts is that he acts his best and that he fits well into the feel of the film as a whole - you can't tell if he's going to do that from one picture. Remember, a film is a different medium entirely to a book. And nobody can change that. if you want something identical to the book, go ahead and reread it. This is the director's and the actors' interpretations we'll see on screen, not yours. So learn to live with it.

I agree with northan lihgts fan, we are entitled to our own opinions that's why they set the sight up in the first place. If we give thoughts on the next book (film) then maybe, just maybe they will incorperate thoughs ideas into the next film.Like for incedence they will get Will perfect (because they should).

He is scruffy enough to be Roger, but he seems a wee bit young to me, an its fair to offer opinions as he is an important character for the first movie after all!
Will NEEDS to be perfect, correct look and age etc, has to be the kind of actor who you look into his eyes and see that fierceness, just how Will is described in the books :P

If Roger's a kitchen boy, he'd probably be well-scrubbed, actually. These stills makes me want to bring up archaic values. Dx Umm. Kitchen boys would have to look presentable, if they needed to be sent on errands to a moment's notice, and cleanliness seems to be something stressed upon at Jordan in the books.

I don't know... I think he looks pretty good. I always imagined Roger as being a little younger than Lyra, mostly by the way he sort of follows her around and does what she wants. As for Lyra and Will... I do believe they are only about 11 or 12 at the beginning, but I could be wrong. Though, I would agree that they seem much more mature.

Guys & Girls, he might just look younger than he really is and lucky him if he is, I say him in sweeney Todd with Ray winstone and he was brilliant. Why have we not seen more of him as I agree with Veniaros he is an important Character and is what the books are all about.

Ben is soo sweet! I Love him he makes a fab Roger, he is only young but I he plays Roger perfectly! When I met him he looked quite diffrent, I guess they edit it a bit. Well done, Enjoy the movie. Lol
