I imagine Lord Asriel to be a bit more darker and Majestic, Craig is little bit more rough and adventurer (suits James Bond). Still he seems to have a very promising talent to portray Lord Asriel.

I like what they have done with the characters. I especially like Asriel being Daniel Craig......though when I read the book I pictured a darker, more rugged, physically impressive character (by no means a warrior), yet my happiness is apparent with Craig....they could have done infinitely worse.

That's you're opinion of the character. Perhaps Daniel Craig wanted to bring a different side to him; something that would make you think. A possibly more flawed, human person, not a superhero. He's read the books and maybe that's what he got from the character. It's up to his interpretation really, and I think hid face looks thoughtful, or maybe even... no that looks pretty thoughtful to me.
P.S. Just wondering, are you going to see the movie?

Chillax! I bought the book today. Once I finnish 'The Life of Pi' I'll start reading this one. I'm actually looking foreward to it. And don't worry about the pictures. I make it a point to build my own characters in every book I read. It lets me enjoy them more.

Yes, that would stink. As I recall though, I did know of the fate of Will and Lyra at the end of TAS while I was still in the middle of reading it. This was my fault though because I chose to read Lyra's Oxford before finishing the third book. It was rather devastating. =[

Oh i am so happy Daniel Craig is gonna play Asriel! To be honest, before hand i had imagined lord asriel way differemt, tall dark, etc. but now i just think he looks so perfect and adds a knew...sexiness...to asriel. Its gonna be fantastic - hes a brilliant actor!
