yes, this picture simbolizes the posture of lyra, her personality. i guess this is the beginning of the book, when she enters in privative room. one of the betters pictures that has already appears. dakota is perfect, the table, the glasses, every detail how i imagine. Ah...agrees with kyrillion, i think she will shine on the screen. eleven months, only.:D

This is perfect. It really shows the unconcious grace of Lyra and her mischievious rebel nature. Yes I think that this is the begining of the book where she and Pan are exploring the forbidden rooms.

Yes, DBR is starting to grow on me as well... she does have that grace. However I agree with Rebecca, she needs to have straight hair!! and blue eyes for that matter.. I also don't like Daniel Craig as Lord Asriel, I still would've preferred Jason Issac. And the costumes they all seem too contemporary, not at all appropiate enough to be wearing robes. The costumes and set all just seem so "Narnia" too me, stylistically.. even Jordan College, something is off.. it needs to more large, colder and worn, yet tough and masculine. Oh, I'm just being anal, I can't help it... these are my favourite novels of all time. I have such a feeling of dichotomy towards the film. I'm terribly excited for it, and yet, I'm dreading watching it. Either way, I'm still going to be there to watch it opening day.

I just want to point out that Lyra DOES actually have curly hair. It mentions it somewhere... Anyway I think it suits her better anyway because it sort of mirrors her wild untamed nature.

No. I think you will find that she does actually have curly (or at least wavy) hair. i remember it says at one point in TAS when Mrs Coulter cuts a lock of Lyras hair, it says "a curl". I pictured Lyra with messy shoulder length curly hair anyway so Dakota is perfect in my eyes.

Lovely picture! I must confess that how I imagined Lyra was based on the Eric Rohmann illustration (mostly the one on The Subtle Knife) and so her hair was always neck-length and dirty (in both ways) blonde. I think Rohmann followed character descriptions from the book closely enough =D Anyway, I'm starting to like Dakota anyway, she's probably as Lyra as they get! And I'm wondering, who else pronounced Lyra's name as Leeruh?

Yeah, I must admit, I did imagine Lyra with curlyish hair but not as curly as Dakota's, ( I am DEFINITELY not dissing her!) but I am glad that they havn't tried to make her hair less curly than it naturally is.
