I agree. Hester has a "monster' ears...The Kate's voice is perfect to the Lee's daemon.

im a bit confused by hester .. i mean i know daemons are spposed t not easily be mistaken for real animals ... but i ahd such a clear image of hester in my head as a large dark hare .. and this makes her look almost comical .. i dont know .. topped with i always imagined lee much younger too, but never mind, it shudnt bother me tooooo much :P

im guessing wherever it is lyra first meets lee ... and thers loadsa funny round things that im guessing are the generators for this alchemical power? hmmm so the aerodock? iuno . wherever lee holds his balloon ..

Anyone that knows anything bout Texas knows that HESTER is a JACKRABBIT. That is a honest to goodness rabbit that exists in the "country of Texas". Lookup JACKRABBIT in your dictionary or animal books.
