Dynamic Enterprises‘ film adaptation of Philip Pullman’s novel The Butterfly Tattoo (a.k.a. “The White Mercedes”) will open this coming Friday the 19th in New York City at 410pm at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. Director Phil Hawkins and lead actress Jessica Blake will be in attendance. Tickets are available at the festival website or through the producers.
The Butterfly Tattoo enjoyed its world premiere last week in Vlissingen in the Netherlands at the Film by the Sea Festival, where it earned 4 out of 5 stars and nation-wide media attention. In addition, it is showing in other European film festivals and in Swedish and UK tie-in educational campaigns. Excited about upcoming screenings? Talk about it here or visit the official site.
I’d love to see it but I will never make it to NYC. I live too far from any major city in the US or Canada to be able to see it on the big screen, and our local movie theaters don’t show independent films. perhaps of it comes to Minneapolis, I can make the long trek to see it if I couple it with some other reason to go 200 miles.
I just hope it comes out on video and the local video store gets a copy for me to rent.
This looks good, But what about the Golden Compass Sequels, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Any word on a schedule for other showings?
(And the people behind The Butterfly Tattoo have nothing to do with TSK.)
