If you want to get your copy of La Belle Sauvage signed, Pullman will be at Blackwell’s Bookshop on Broad Street in Oxford at 3.30pm on 19 October.
Pullman revealed that Oxford’s rivers and canals are a key part of the story and that the ruined 12th century Godstow Abbey has been brought back to life.
He joked that he set the book in Oxford because he is “lazy” and “didn’t want to research anywhere else.”
