July Contest Winners!
Posted on by Jaya

Congratulations to the winner of our July contest: Aileth! She wins a signed copy of The Good Man Jesus and The Scoundrel Christ containing a signed Philip Pullman bookplate! This was her idea for a fourth artefact:

The objects already in existence are portrayed as taking the user into one or another of the senses for their interpretation. For this, my proposition would be an artefact that uses the sense of hearing and resonance: Resonance Forks. The metal forks are made of the same alloy as the subtle knife over a wooden acoustic box to receive and generate the sounds.

Abilities: The forks resonate with the different vibrations of elementary particles (like Dust) or particles of different worlds and by the different sounds each world gives, you can find a place where the fabric of the world is thinner and can be gone through more easily (beings like angels, for example, can do this without ripping the material they go through), and with special ability, you could even vibrate the forks to resonate with the fabric and create a hole through to another world where the material is thinned to allow this.

Congratulations also to our runners up, Andrew, who came up with Bodley’s Skeleton Key that would open vaults to the Magisterium’s darkest secrets… and KComber, whose engraved copper bowl let people see the true nature of the multiverse.

If you entered but didn’t win, then please accept our heartfelt commiserations. There’ll be another contest next month, so watch this space!
