Fox predicts a holiday smash
Posted on by jessia

In his Fox News entertainment round-up, Roger Friedman predicts good things to come from the Golden Compass’ premier this season: “I’ve now seen about a half hour of it, and without a doubt, “The Golden Compass” will be the big holiday smash hit for which Hollywood is so desperate.” He gives Nicole Kidman’s performance a good review, taking back his criticism of her acting in The Invasion (with Daniel Craig). He also speculates about the commercial soundtrack, saying “I’m told that some popular music may make it into the final soundtrack, including Coldplay. After seeing the footage, I can tell you they’d fit right in.” Read more.

Update: New Line have clarified that Friedman did not see a solid half-hour of the film, but rather a compilation of previously previewed material.

NO! NO! NO! NO! Pleased by the report but why add popular music like *shudder* coldplay to the movie. I personaly like symphony better.(This is my opinion, please don’t argue!!)

  2. Par says:

Coldplay *gag*. Oh well. As long as the movie is good!

hehe always has the same effect oh well, i like coldplay but agree might be wierd in the movie… but if its just in the soundtrack i.e at the end of the movie — credit roll etc then i’m fine with that.

their b-sides and old stuff would be awesome less mainstream and more haunting.

  4. S.Spica says:

    Cold-what? PLZNOKTHNX.

  5. Reuben says:

COLDPLAY?! Oh God, please, no… no… I seriously don’t think I’ll be able to respect the movie if there’s popular music in it. I WANT to respect the movie.

Please, if anybody from New Line is actually interested in what fans write here, please, I literally get on my knees and beg you, don’t put popular music in the soundtrack.
