BAFTA for “Special Visual Effects”

At today’s British Film Academy Awards, hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), Michael Fink, Bill Westenhofer, Ben Morris, and Trevor Wood were recognised for their work on The Golden Compass, winning in the category “Special Visual Effects.” Their fellow nominees included those who worked on the films The Bourne Ultimatum, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, and Spider-Man 3. Congratulations gentlemen.

    The only downside to Golden Compass winning Visual Effects oscar is that there will be endless years of Transformers fanboys being pissed off!
