Claire Squires – one of the first writers to come out with a book about His Dark Materials – releases her new book on the trilogy this week (US / UK). Developing on her previous publication, it still focuses on His Dark Materials, but includes a lengthy biographical chapter, analysis of Pullman's other books and a look at the various adaptations of the trilogy. We'll have a review of the book up soon; in the meantime, you can read a review of her first book here.

Claire and her publisher have kindly offered up a book for a contest here. Inspired by a discussion back at Srafcon, Claire wants to see what food would you offer to cook for a HDM character and why?
