The rights for original toys based on The Golden Compass movie has been given by New Line and Scholastic to Master Replicas and Cards Inc. LOS ANGELES (Oct. 20, 2006) – New Line Cinema and Scholastic Media announced that they have licensed Master Replicas, Cards Inc., and
affiliates the right to create a line of original toys based on the upcoming New Line feature film The Golden Compass. The announcement was
made today by David Imhoff, New Line's Senior Executive Vice President of Worldwide Licensing and Merchandising.
The companies will create a full range of officially licensed The Golden Compass toys designed to embody the strong themes of the story. The
innovative product line will focus on playability, fantasy, role-play and collectibility. The Golden Compass product line will be unveiled at
the upcoming Hong Kong Toy Fair in January and will be showcased at the London, Nuremberg and New York Toy Fairs throughout January and
February.

Eh. Not sure if I like this or not. I mean, if they're making plush toys of the daemons themselves, that can be really unnerving…cuddling up with a Pantalaimon plushie would be like cuddling up with someone else's soul…
