His Dark Materials Podcast
Posted on by

BridgeToTheStars.net is launching the first HDM audio-show – the SrafCast. It's a fortnightly opportunity to hear excitable Sraffies talk about all the latest His Dark Materials news and discuss wider themes from the books. Ian has been working for while now on the project and it's the result of his – and the participants – hard work. You can subscribe to the podcast through iTunes, or download it directly. You can send your thoughts about it to podcast@bridgetothestars.net

Thanks Will. As he says, we'd love to hear from you what you think. Just to add to what he says, it's not yet available on iTunes (we go live in a few hours hopefully) but if you search for "srafcast", "btts" or "HDM" you ought to find it.

  2. Bethan says:

Woohoo! We've worked so hard on this, I'm glad that it's on the main page. 🙂 Yay for srafcast!

  3. Tianyi says:

    🙂

    Good work, everyone!

I wish I could participate in recording sessions but not with English oral skills 😛

If there's anything other stuff I could do I'm happy to do it.

    Finally!

You were getting a little behind the times regarding a podcast.

If you ever have anything I could do, let me know! (To Will: I was the guy who emailed you a couple months back regarding a podcast and RSS feed; the feed works great, BTW!)      🙂

  5. Ilya says:

Your smiley system could use some work, especially for Safari.

  6. Willl says:

    *waves hullo*

Bearing in mind I don't roll my own Javascript, it looks just to be a simple Insertext (wonder why it only has one T), I can't see why it wouldn't work. Safari is quite low down on priorities though..

  7. Ilya says:

Well, makes sense, seing as Safari has, what?, 3.7 % of the browser market share. :wassat:

Oh, I get it… The smilies get inserted into the end of the comment (I had had my cursur at the start of my comment and had figured that the smiley would go there). Looks like it's not Safari but my habits of inserting stuff like that in my apps.

  8. Jake says:

Hurry up! Get it on iTunes already!

  9. silversong says:

That's wicked! I just subscribed-it has a very professional sound to it and I can't wait to listen to the whole thing. Congratulations and pat yourself on the back. Great idea! 🙂

  10. Skye says:

I'd just written an extremely long review of the srafcast, clicked 'add my comment', then just about died.
It said I hadn't entered the correct code. I'll send my comments along in an email then.

  11. Marcy says:

Yayy! I've been waiting for this ever since I started listening to MuggleCast. Can't wait to download it!

  12. Willl says:

Skye – if you get the wrong code (which I do occassionally), press back in your browser and your text will still be there. It's like that in Firefox at any rate.

  13. Skye says:

It's usually like that, but it didn't work this time. I dunno why.

  14. KittyKat: says:

It often doesn't work for me, too. It's SOOOOOO frustrating.

  15. KittyKat: says:

    It happened again!!!!!

  16. jenny says:

Safari has much more of a market share than that. Besides, Apple is much better, so who cares. Internet explorer is in the process of losing to mozilla anyway.

  17. arcadiaenlightened says:

    nice show.

  18. Sarah says:

yeah it's not working for me either 🙁

  19. amanda says:

The link there doesn't weork, and I only came here after finding it on iTunes. I was so excited when I saw it, but then I tried to download it & it NEVER works.
