We are not being immature, we are simply giving our own opinions, which are obviously different from yours. I respect your opinions and everything you say on this website but sometimes I have to say that I disagree with the things you say. I also want to point out that I don't have anything against Pan_Kirjava_Isabelle, its just I am kinda fed up of her saying how much she hates Dakota Blue Richards in every single one of her comments. Ok Lyra at heart 13 you made your point- everyone seems a little hot headed about it- but everyone has come to accept; it seems that this girl is playing Lyra. All of us have something we can pick faults with but at the end of the day- doesn't everybody hate every lucky millionaire- any person could have been picked out- (no offence Lyra ah13) but you sound lyraish to me. Dakoota was picked out of millions of kids and if she turns out well- everyone will hate her for it, if she's bad people will hate her for it. Drop it nothing will change any of it. THough it is fun to let off steam on how bad you think the casting is.

Its good. She's cute. This film is amazing... wow... bring on 7th December... Think I'm just going to sleep til then and wake up and attend.

I don't quite know why... because I know it doesn't happen in the book, but the shot makes me want to have Pan in cat form walking along the table next to Lyra... it just looks like the perfect shot for that, even though it'd be totally wrong.

i dont think it's so much the actor they chose but they way they are portraying her. that does not seem like the lyra who doesnt like to shower or do her hair and who enjoys having mud fights and wars with boys.
perhaps its just me but she looks too.... nice. i pictures something much more vicious.... in an endearing sort of way i guess....

It was gonna be I think someone called Adam Godley (An adult) but then they dubbed him with a child, and in my opinion, the worst person they could ever pick for Pan. You know the boy from Charlie and the Chocolate factory (The new one, which I hated anyway) and Arthur and the Invisibles? Its gonna be him! I hate that kid so much. He can't act to save his life. They have only put him in coz Godley wasn't working and they wanted Pan to have a more a more childlike voice, so he's the last resort. GGGRRRR These people make me mad!!! The castings been great up til now.

New Line Cinema gave the rights for His Dark Material's trilogy to be turned into a movie. This happen after end of the lord of the rings trilogy. Is this a good or bad thing for Mr. Pullman? I feel that it is an honor to turn the HDM trilogy into a movie from such a company. Someone, please express your opinions!

Yes, I would have to agree to that. The book does pose a more favorable view of the story rather than watching a depiction of it in the theaters. Still, are you at least bit curious to find out how the producers would create interesting cinematics of the story? (The Aurora, cliff-ghast, Bears, world-portals, daemans, dust, etc...). You do not find it honorable that Mr.Pullman's trilogy would be turn into a movie?

I am really surprised to hear that so many people imagined Pan with an adult?Ç¬¥s voice. I myself was always especially afraid of that they would do that in the movie. Kid?Ç¬¥s voice, in my opinion, is way more logical: it would really be weird if "half the Lyra?Ç¬¥s soul" spoke with the voice of some grown man. O_o I think daemons grow with their people, this way they seem more part of them.

Yeah, I think most people imagined Pan with an adults voice because he is sort of the autority over Lyra, like her concience, and coz authority normally links too adults (Except in Lyra's case of course!!!) they probably get that in their mind. I imagined Pan somewhere in the middle, like a younger male. I DEFINTELY did not imagine Pan as Freddie Highmore thoguh. Of aaaaaall the young boys to do Pan's voice he was the one I wanted the least. He's just too... Posh and cheesy. Not Lyra's other half.

It does kind of make sense that Pan should talk in a child's voice considering that Lyra is a child, just not in Freddie Highmore's voice! Its so annoying! The Pan in the audio book (read by Pullman himself) is good, he's an adult but sounds right for Pan.
