And aklebury - Yes, Daniel Craig has had a beard in all the movie pictures. There was a big debate over whether Lord Asriel had a beard in the books...I don't remember it reaching any really definite conclusion, but it looks like he'll have a beard in the movies, anyway.

Just to fill you in, Lyra doesn't actually exist, ok? to the millions of people around the world, Dakota will be Lyra. To readers of the books, we all have our unique images of what Lyra would look like. There is no right or wrong in this.

Thank you, someone who's actually sane. Same with what John said. (Honestly, reading through some of the ridiculous comments on these images is almost maddening.)

Personally, I'm just really glad that they decided to even -make- a film. It looks unique, and very visual, and I'll wait to see it before I judge it completely. From what I've seen so far, I have high expectations.

She looks to be about 5'4", and it looks almost like those boots have heels. 5'4" isn't at all uncommon for a preteen girl after hitting a pre-puberty growth spurt. She'd be taller than most of the boys her age.

Daniel Craig, like most male actors, refuses to reveal his height. A cursory scan of a few websites suggest he's about six feet, give or take one or two inches.
