i thought that too. also, he was supposed to be a crippled, old , wise man. the fact that he had such a beautiful daemon said a lot about who he was and the fact that although so old and frail he still had a beautiful soul.

Hm, I always liked Sophonax, but turning her into a lynx isn't the end of the world I s'pose.

Maybe not, but I think it did ruin the beauty of his character..

i swear in the books philip pullman intended sophonax to be a lynx, coz i always imagined her as one, coz he described her as something like much larger than a house cat but smaller than a big cat .. i jus figured itd be a lynx, and in fact u can find a picture of farder coram and his daemon by me in the fanart section, and ull see i thought the same . tho this lynx looks bigger ..
i adore coram . and did u did u did u see in the thing about witches, serafina coming down and saying to him 'i will look after her, coram' and stroking his face! i cant wait to see how serafina and coram react etc in the films, their character dynamics etc.

WOO i always did love sophonax . the touch of a multicolour sheen to daemons fur will really help with her .. :D xxx

THO, i might add, i dont think she looks particularly aesthetically pleasing in this poster - shes too bright and draws too much attention from coram . x

I like his daemon this way. After all in the book it is said that house-cats are non-existant in Lyra's world ... So it ought to be some wild form.

They didn't say they didn't exist, they said people didn't usually keep them as pets. But they were kept in Jordan to kill the rats.

Whatever. I think I might get used to his daemon... He's just a little different to how I imagined him.
