BTTS: Binds Us Together
Started off as a thing to pass my time, one thing led to another and well... you can see the results.

That looks rather snazzy

That's nifty. Does each rune (?) have a unique interpretation?

Re: BTTS: Binds Us Together
Each of them are based on the initials of a Sraffie's name, then corresponding rune symbols are found and then the trick is to craft them together so that it won't just be a mess. In a way you can make them unique as long as you can find ways to fit them together differently, even if there're two exact full names there's probably a way to make the two's runes unique.
I often mention Tolkien's "J.R.R.T." symbol when explaining, since bindrunes work in a similar fashion.

...wow.
By the way, I found the runic alphabet-it works! I think you may get next years Creative Sraffie award if you carry on like that, nice job.
What program do you use?

I used Photoshop for assembling them and Paint (cause it turns out I'm not too savvy on photoshop) to make the picture with them aligned together.

I must say Brynjar, that you have produced something very cool. Have you considered printing it onto a tea towel? I might buy it...

Ooh, it looks snazzy in your sig, Peter. I wonder if I should add mine. My signature is absurdly crowded, but there's always room for more, I suppose...

Re: BTTS: Binds Us Together
Oooer, that's an idea, Peter.
Thank you for laboring so long on mine, Bryn. I'm sorry it gave you the most trouble but at least you've given me an idea for the tattoo I've been meaning to get for the past decade. I like your symbol very much but I've always wanted to design it myself...although I expect I'll need some runic lessons from you.

Re: BTTS: Binds Us Together
I'd be happy to show you the tricks, Di, I believe they're called personal bindrunes for a reason.
As for the tea towel, Ian, I hadn't given it a thought and frankly I had to search on wiki to see what a tea towel is!

Re: BTTS: Binds Us Together
Kind of double-posting, but whatever.
If there's a sraffie who would like a personal bindrune like those above I'd be happy to create more, since it is quite fun.
Just send a message with the initials of your full name if you are interested.

Re: BTTS: Binds Us Together
why is the the first thing i saw when i looked at mine!?
There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all

At first I thought "d'awww, how cute", until I realised where their hands were going... and judging by what you named it, I'm guessing that's what you had in mind?why is the the first thing i saw when i looked at mine!?

Upon Alex's ingenious observation, and because I am dutiful to my project as only Michelangelo painting the Sistine Chapel could possibly match, I have yet again updated the picture as follows:
