...out of the alethiometer, the Subtle Knife or the Amber Spyglass, which one would you most like to possess?

I'd go for the knife any day!

I wouldn't trust myself with the Aliethmeter if I could use it (though I wouldn't mind it if I couldn't) and the knife is too dangerious for anyone to possess...

Definatly they Spyglass, I couldn't stop myself consulting the alethiometer every 2 minutes about stuff, and the Knife just isn't meant to had by anyone.....

If I could use it I'd want the alethiometer, but then again I'd probably end up asking it about everything and not actually thinking about things much...

I'd like the knife too, but it makes a specter every time you use it and harms Dust... Maybe if I only used the side that cuts normal things, but then I'd probably cut off my hand by accident...

The spyglass would really be the safest and most practical, but the others are still so much cooler! *sigh*

Psh, you all have no sense of adventure. I'd take the knife. So what if you create a Specter every time you use it? You can go to other universes, for crying out loud! I'm only 18 and I'm bored of this one! I'd say it's worth the price of having to hunt down and kill a specter if you get to go to parallel worlds. But the alethimeter would also be very cool, if you could use it. Maybe you could ask it of a way to travel to alternate worlds without nasty side effects like Specters. The spyglass is boring though, I'd be like, "Oh. That kid hit puberty. Woop-de-doo for him and his shiny, sparkly Dust."

For me it would NOT be the spyglass.

I might choose the knife IF i could kill the spectre as soon as the window opened and created it (swing the knife around madly and hope to hit it )

My first choice would be the Alethiometer. Just imagine what you could do with it. You could save lives by asking it what is happening to the person etc or you could do less helpful things.

I'd go with the alethiometer I think. The knife is too great a temptation and considering the actual harm it can do it is not worth it. The spyglass would be cool but then I'd probably break it to turn it into a pair of glasses that would give me insane golden disco effect everywhere I go...

PS - Someone should totally poll this. We must comission a mod!

If it weren't for Spectres I'd be all about the knife, but since there is that obvious downside, I'll take an alethiometer any day. I've sometimes wished for one in real life anyway, since I seem to keep making unwise decisions!
