Coulter+Asriel+Skadi

before TGC, Ms. Coulter was in an affair with Mr. Coulter. Then Lord Asriel had a child with her, and the whole thing made a big controversy, which caused lots of problems for Lord Asriel. But then in TSK, Ruta Skadi went to Lord Asriel, and did umm... it... with Lord Asriel. This brings up several questions. Was he in love with her, or Coulter? And also, after all of the problems that one affair caused for him, wouldnt he be smart enough to not do it again?

I think that Ms. Coulter was married to Mr. Coulter, but she had an affair w/ Asriel, and asriel's murder of him was what caused him problems, and then he had an affair with Ruta, and Coulter had an affair with Lord Boreal...

well, asriel did ruta skadi in the last book. and he helped save the world with coulter a bit after that, and they died together. which is a more lovey kinda thing?

i no the radio play was full of holes and stufgf, but they sed that Dr. Lanselius, the witch consul had also loved Ruta Skadi

Also the risk factor involved in 'dating' Ruta Skadi was the difference. When he had the affair with Coulter, they both knew the risks, and Asriel suffered the consequences when they were found out, but having an affair (not even really an affair as she wasn't married) with a witch queen could have been both a booty call and a political move, but certainly wouldn't involve risking what had happened 12 years ago happening again. His real love, however was for Mrs Coulter.

Lord Asriel didn't have an 'affair' with Ruta Skadi for the simple reason that neither of them were married.

Exactly, so there was no risk of any consequences. For the same reason her relationship with Boreal wasn't an affair either.
