I agree with everybody who has commented before me. Just guessing, but maybe when Jenny posted this work twice, she wanted to show the similarity between Coulter and Lyra? Dunno, really. Great job!

Interesting picture...but I feel it's kind of random and not exactly Lyratic (it's a word from TAS, if you'll remember). Plus there seems to be a glare, you know - like light on a shiny surface. Is it on polished wood or something?

No, to me that can't be Lyra. It would make a fine Mrs Coulter though... And well there's allways the fact that it IS beautiful- Obviously.

I tidied your comments up a little there Missy-Me, the link definitely points in the right place now. I'm fine if you all head there - as I've mentioned before, it's partly just having you all in one place I want.. You've seen how the other conversations have descended into name-calling before and it must be hard keeping discussion going across so many different places.

So, head over the forum and try registering, 'tis very simple. Then you get an avatar, signiture etc, and it's much easier to read comments and post. I'll tell everyone else on the boards to be a bit more gentle in that thread, but be warned if you go too overboard then you'll likely be told off.

i admire u're bravery at postin a pic made from unusual medium! the wood carvin is certainly effective! I don't think this really captures Lyras spirit, but you have a unique artistic style! Theres such a wild desire in her eye, which i think would be best to keep only to Mrs Coulters particular label.

Agreed, its interesting and lovely but there is alot of sensuality in this image which I don't see in her yet. I can see this as Lyra maybe five years from when the trilogy ends.

i saw a picture of lyra's double running around a set on cbbc website.
Not how i much imagined her but PP chose her and he knows her best. I quite like the idea of Nicole Kidman being Mrs Coulter though. Did you actually paint this?

It's Mrs.Coulter, not Lyra. She's not perfect. She's rugged and a lot different. It 's great for Mrs.Coulter, though.
