The official Golden Compass website has been steadily updating with more features since it was launched. You can now view wallpapers of the major characters, which include their daemons. That gives us our first proper sighting of Serafina’s daemon Kaisa – changed into a black goose instead of white – and Lee’s daemon Hester, who is blessed with massive ears. Head to the website and then hover over ‘Menu’, then click ‘Downloads’ and hover over a character to view the wallpapers.

New Line Party

It’s New Line Cinema’s 40th anniversary this year and the film studio put on a lavish red-carpet event at Cannes with the cast of The Golden Compass. The party’s location, the Villa Rothschild, was lit up with the ‘Northern Lights’ and a sculpture of an armour-glad Iorek Byrnison reared over the event. Three New Videogame Screens

Worthplaying have posted three new screenshots from The Golden Compass videogame set to come out alongside the movie this winter. They all show Lyra: balancing on a beam in Trollesund, riding Iorek and escaping across the rooftops from what looks like Mrs Coulter’s flat. TGC Behind the Scenes

Access Hollywood have posted a Behind the Scenes look at The Golden Compass. The video goes through much of the trailer, showing the filming process for each scene. There’s much to see there: footage of more acting from Dakota, a glimpse of Philip Pullman on set talking to Nicole Kidman, Eva Green flying in front of green-screen and more.
