Excitement is growing amongst Sraffies as casting notices are being revealed for the new His Dark Materials adaptation. Ruth Wilson, of Luther and The Affair fame, has been the latest star to sign up to the project, joining James McAvoy, Clarke Peters, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Dafne Keen.

The adaptation of Northern Lights, the Subtle Knife and the Amber Spyglass has been written Jack Thorne, and will be directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper. Philip Pullman will be joining Executive Producers Jane Tranter and Julie Gardner for Bad Wolf, Toby Emmerich and Carolyn Blackwood for New Line Cinema and Deborah Forte for Scholastic.

Filming is set to start in South Wales this year.
