Screen Daily is reporting that open auditions for the part of Lyra in the upcoming His Dark Materials film will be held. The producers say they are looking for a girl “who embodies Lyra's loyalty, bravery and mischievous nature” and say that she need not have any previous acting experience.
Auditions for the role will be taking place solely in England: at Cambridge, Oxford, Kendal and Exeter. The auditions will be held during the first two weeks of this April. A girl between the ages of 9 and 13 is being sought, allaying fears that Lyra's age would be raised for legal or moral reasons.
For those going: We'd like to cover the auditions here on BttS as fully as possible, so if anyone actually going to the auditions is interested, we'd love it if they could tell us of their experiences – how they convinced their parents, what the queue was like and perhaps even taking a few photos. If you are planning to go to the auditions and are interested, then you can email us here. Your stories would be featured here after each of the auditions.
Details:
The casting calls will have open queues in the morning lasting from 10 o'clock until 12 o'clock and will end at 5 o'clock in the afternoon.

- Oxford's Examination Schools (11 April)
- Exeter's Great Hall at the University of Exeter (13 April)

anyway the second film there doing is pronce caspian. which is coming out in 2008. thats just the pevensies again.
But there are rumours that there doing prince caspian, The voyage of the dawn treader and the silver chair back to back, filming them at the same time.
Eustace 1st appears in the voyage of the dawn treader with edmund and lucy, who are his cousins.(peter and susan are by now too old)
but Jill dosen't appear until the 6th book. The silver chair. and none of the pevensies are in the silver chair, so jill dosent actually go on any advennture with the pevensies.
it also never mentions the ages of any of the children in any of the books, so that dosent rly matter.
so if there doing the next 3 films back to back they will actually need a jill pretty soon, because she's in the silver chair.
but i dunno if this rumour is true or anything. i got it off imdb and i havent been on there in a while.

Yh 6th form refers to year 12 and 13, heres an explination:
yr6 = 6th yr junior
yr7 = 1st yr senior
yr8 = 2nd yr senior
yr9 = 3rd yr senior
yr10 = 4th yr senior
yr11 = 5th yr senior
yr12 = 6th yr senior
yr13 = 7th yr senior
It's all basically just old terms, it should really be called 6th+7th form . . . oh well . . . JK uses those years for Hogwarts, ie. 1st yr, 2nd yr etc

yeah i know films can never be as good as books but there nothing LIKE the books, and they add in loads of stupid dramatic scenes and miss out really good ones.
for example-
-in the 4th film they had all that rubbish about harry flying over hogwarts and falling off his broom during the 1st challenge
-then they miss out good scenes. like one of my all time favourite scenes from the books is when harry finds out he's a wizard and hagrid getting mad and stuff, i really loved that scene, i thought it was rly well done.
and so how did they do it in the film? it went a bit like this.
Hagrid- I'm Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of keys at Hogwarts, you'll know all about hogwarts of coarse.
Harry- Sorry, No
Hagrid- Didn't you ever wonder where ya parents learnt it all
