Well, it says in the book that he had a grand mansion in the middle of the waste and frost land, I think it must look very uncozy, very frosten and not very esthetic structurally if it was bult by the bears! But notice that it seems like he has very luxurious items counting that he is in the middle of nowhere

I may be seventeen, yet the books "His Dark Materials" is the best trilogy I have ever read. I do not care if it is meant for kids, the whole plot is vast and complex coming up with the knowledge of Dust, original sin being a blessing, and knowing that God had lied to everyone. I love books that deal with biblical allusions. It is true that the pursuit of knowledge should not be limited. I thank Mr. Pullman for making me recall that notion and cherish it with all my heart, mind, and body. I am sad that I finish reading all of his the trilogy in just 5 days. It was just to interesting and I had nothing much else to do. I cannot WAIT for the all three movies to be released.

Hello! Well, I'm 15, but in 12 days I will be 16 (July 15). I'm from Spain, so not to be very strict with my English, please! ^//^
I read the books when i was 9 years old and became addicted to them. Initially I was giving when they were kidnapping the children and I was a time without reading them, (I was very small) but on the following year I got hooked up to them and already I could not leave them.
They are my favorite trilogy and they it were moreover when I found out that it was known throughout the world and there were million persons who loved them so much like I.
I was 10 and dreaming being actress or director of cinema to interpret the books, and even I was wondering if Phillip Pullman would live by then (what dreamy!) and now, some years later, I see my dream make. I only hope the film will be GREAT and FANTASTIC! and make me smile and shut with emotion in the cinema! =P

Well, I think I'm officially the oldest writer here as im 22... just recently finished re-reading the books after hearing bout the movie release and must say I am slightly disappointed, the movie itself looks like it will be fantastic however there have been little irritating tweeks done that I feel deny the connection some readers want to have with the movie relating to the actual storyline, eg, they have changed the name Iofur Raknison to Ragnar Sturlusson, Mrs Coulter's hair has went from Dark to Blonde, The Armored Bears are covered on their underside (which was the reason why Iorek was exposed during his fight with Iofur and of course The Witches are dressed in Blue linen rather than Black Silk and flying without the need of Cloud Pine... All these plus the fact that the picture above clearly doesn't show a House with windows but a Cave with Asriel looking a little more Relaxed rather than Extremely Irritated with Lyra's appearance, which is dictated clearly in the book.

I hope the movie makes up for the 'little things' they left out cos if it doesn't I will be extremely disapointed

Witch_Queen... Sorry hun, beat u to the project 3 years ago when studying Philosophy at Duncan of Jordanston Uni (Dundee) I was writing a Thesis on 'Multiple Realities vs The Religion'... Basically how if God gave freewill then it is only obvious that the result would be Multiple Realities in which those free will decisions are born from. Yet the Bible Condemns the possibility calling it Heresy (Note first three letters 'Her' i.e. Female, Original Sin, Eve) I also wrote how Religion Contradicts itself by Giving Freewill then punishing those who use it the way 'The Bible' doesn't approve... To give us free will and then expect us to follow a set of rules and guidelines or be punished is not freewill. Therefore God does not exist. Hope this gives u a basis from which to start... Goodluck
