dang! They look terrible there. Awkward, clumsy, drunken - nothing sophisticated in this shot and yes, definately too fifties-ish. Not at all how I'd picture Mrs Coulter walking...

Scary how they're walking almost exactly the same way...
Anyway, this outfit goes under that beige coat with all the fur, so you won't really notice the fifties-ish-ness in the film itself.
