Of course. And also that you shouldn’t be friends with bears. Because they will eat you.

Well, I pretty much believed every single person that read the book cried, or at least felt sad, when Lee died. Most emotional part of the whole Trilogy for me, maybe along with Will losing his fingers.
And dear Hester, my favorite daemon (Everyone loves a swearing bunny  )

You found this moment sad? I never really noticed it as a moment of any particular emotion other than perhaps shock.

I have to agree, not a sad moment, a rather beautiful moment, when Pan soothes Will, thats quite the powerful moment.

I didn't take Pan's comforting of Will as the first sign of love, although that is a very reasonable explanation. I thought Pan just really felt sorry for Will because he didn't have a daemon of his own to empathize with him. I think maybe Pan imagined Will to have great loneliness because of not having a daemon. Maybe, like how our pets often can sense what we are feeling and appear to empathize with us.

I'm reading the trilogy to my daughter and got totally choked when Lee died. Mind you, I had trouble with the death of Dobby too!
Me too! I got choked up about Lee's death, but it was prolly the way a character like him wudda wanted to go. Better than at the hands of the Magisterium, or the specters....

I was affected by Will losing his fingers as well, but more shocked and empathetic than anything. I loved the part about Pan comforting him.

I nearly died too...I seem to have this curse wherein all my favourite movie and books characters die. :( Laugh at me, but I was actually rooting for him to be with Serafina Pekkala. *winces from tomatoes*

I wasn't hit that badly the first time to be honest because I thought we'd see him again, but every time I read that part it gets sadder, but yeah, the end does easily top it.
