Postby *PrincessPeach* » Tue Nov 27, 2007 10:39 pm

hey,

when i first read HDM i kinda thought (strangely) that daemons were like pokemon. apart from the fact that you dont catch them. or trade them.

Pokemon was the best thing about primary school for me (and the whole no work thing but I was obviously too young to appreciate that).

It's genius really. Everything about it is great and the games have such a mammoth replayability factor. The only thing I don't like is since like gold/silver era all the new pokemon are generally lame as they ran out of ideas. :P

Pokemon was the best thing ever back in the day. I could/probably still can name all 150 Pokemon. Then i played Pokemon gold and all the damn newfangled Pokemon confused me so i abandoned my career as a Pokemon trainer.
But fate interviened. Pokemon experienced quite a renaissance at my hall of residence during exam time and i realised Pokemon Red/Blue is the best game ever.

Red, blue, and yellow rock. In my heart there are only 151 pokemon.

I have yellow lurking around on my laptop on an emulator somewhere.... I should play that again.

Jamie has one, he's just putting his computer on now to look it up and he can probably send you all the stuff.

I was obsessed with Pokemon till 7th grade. That was when computer entered my life. I adore Blue, Red and Yellow, the only annoying thing is the colour of the screen (you know, Blue has a blue screen, Red a red..only Yellow was normal). I like SIlver/Gold/Crystal, but the newest ones are awful.
Spiderpig, spiderpig. He does whatever a spiderpig does. Can he swing from his web ?No he can't, he's a pig. Look ouuuut, look ouuuut...He's the Spiderpig !!

For three or so years pokemon owned my soul.
cards, television and gameboy colour... which is still lurking around in a drawer somewhere with the battery cover missing...
I was a reasonably good schoolyard collector untill pog's came in... then football stickers... then yugi-yo...

Gotta catch 'em all, i know it's my destiny, i'll teach you and you teach me...

Pokemon before pogs? Pogs were definitely the craze here before pokemon. After I got those two out of the way, it was all yo-yos all the time.

Football stickers were definately the worst of the fads... all you could do was trade them.. and stick 'em to stuff.
The fact that i hate football stickers has nothing at all to do with the fact that i don't follow the beutiful game, or the fact that football stickersn still had a stranglehold on my old school when i left for secondary...

and no, marbles were never in during my time...

My friends and I used to have marbles. We never knew what we were supposed to do with them other than try to make people slip on them...

Damn it, it's so hard to explain something so simple.

You stand up. The oppoents marble is on the ground, you through your marble at his/her marble and if you hit it then you win. Then he tries. You shield your marble with your feet on the opposite side to the thrower to stop his marble rolling away if he misses. That's the best I can do.

There are many different games though, kids change the rules all the time. People used to bring ballbearings from train wheels into school. They just went around smashing peoples marble with them but they were sweet to win.

I really enjoyed Diamond and Pearl. I think they're the best of the series yet. A lot of people call blasphemy on that, but really, DP had a more developed, darker storyline, whereas the other games had a really weak storyline (though RSE came close).

Red, Blue and Yellow are Classics, no matter how weak a story line they had.
They will never bad (like the first Legend of Zelda...Classic).

Yeah I used to be a pokemon junkie when I was like 10-11. Game, Cards, TV show. But it started to get boring after awhile. The game is still fun (red, yellow, and blue) but after you have beaten it it’s like….”why am I doing this”. In conclusion Pokemon was a cool but expensive faze.
