Iorek Byrnison fanart

Postby SOLmenta » Sun Mar 06, 2005 3:12 am

In all of the fanart that I've seen of Iorek, he's always wearing a helmet.

Is there actually mention of a helmet in the books?

I'm sure that since he's king of Svalbard now, he could have a helmet whenever he needed one.
But while he was still in exile, was a helmet part of his armor? I just can't remember if it was, and the reason I need to know is because I'm working on some fanart. I just finished Lady Salmakia a few minutes ago (it's rather horrid, but maybe I'll post it here some day), and I'm gonna start drawing Iorek, soon. I want to be as accurate as possible.

Will cut up one of Iorek's helmets in The Amber Spyglass to show how powerful The Subtle Knife was, so yes he did have and wear one.

Oh! Thank you kindly.

I remember that part; where Will cut up his helmet...

But did he have a helmet while he was in exile?

All of his armour was taken, so I assume a helmet as well. You're allowed artistic license, you know. :P

If your sink falls apart, the workman usually can't fall behind "plumber's license," no.
