What did you all get in the post today or recently?

Today I received a pair of socks. I think my aunt sent them to me because she thought they were mine. They're not. They're too big for me and smell a lot like my other cousins. Not smell in a bad way, because they've been washed, but smell as in their own personal scent.

Also I got a cheque from the national savings and investment people saying my premium bonds won a prize - 50 squid :)

An appointment for a children's hospital that was 7 years late. From when I had the winter vomiting virus. Apparantly they want to stick a camera down my throat. I think i'll pass.

Hey, at least it's not somewhere you could make rhyme with 'pass'

Nothing for me personally.

A circular from NTL in an oversized envelope attempting tyo convince me that I need their digital TV service

The usual tedious circular from the TV licensing people accusing me of not having a TV licence and oblivious to the fact that I don't have a televisual device and have no desire to have one.

they actually send you crap like that if you don't have a tv licence? :? anyway, i'm not getting my own devil-box, ever, unless television invents a secondary decent reason to own it (the first and only present one being, of course, movies, which can be watched on a number of other sources)

the latest for me's been a bank statement, nothing special. it gives me a not-very-updated account of how much money i have spent and acquired in the past month, and is never wrong (yet). that was a while ago though...

I bet it gives you a certain righteous satisfaction though - you're just waiting for the day they try to prosecute you.. I would be, anyway.

I got one today, and found out I had £150 less then I thought.

online banking is great, isn't it? you can check your balance without actually leaving your house (i probably wouldn't care if it was warm out or if the bank was within a reasonable walking distance and i got something nice out of going, besides knowing i still have money because while that's always a good thing it's not quite as good as coffee after a long walk, but it's freezing and i don't want to be outside more than i have to until it gets nice out again.)

not that i have anything against the post. i'm getting a postcard from a cousin sometime. and the post is how i got 100 percent of my birthday presents this past year. ^^ and i need to buy some stamps.

yesterday i got a thank-you letter from the zoo for volunteering. i suppose this is one of those things you keep as proof you did actually volunteer? i mean, it's not like i need a memento, i've already got an 'i love the zoo' pin (how propaganda of them to include that in the parting gift).
