Watching Post
If you're in the habit of watching TV or films or anything else while you post, tell us here. Though in the interests of good taste, there is one exception which I hope will be obvious enough for me not to mention .
By this I of course mean East Enders...
I'm watching my Donnie Darko DVD as it happens (not really 'as it happens'... it gave me the idea).

Yes, veery familiar. He looks ready for action in this one:

Not watching them as I write, obviously, but I just treated myself to four new DVDs - well, not new, DVDs of some of the best films ever made that I've seen before. They are
La Sirène du Mississippi (billed as MIssissippi Mermaid for no good reason I can think of) - François Truffaut (1969): Jean-Paul Belmondo, Catherine Deneuve
Brief Encounter - David Lean (1945): Celia Johnson, Trevor Howard
The Long Good Friday - John Mackenzie (1981): Bob Hoskins, Helen Mirren
Rosemary's Baby - Roman Polanski (1968): Mia Farrow, John Cassavetes
Very much looking forward to being kept out of mischief by this lot!

Just watched a mind-numbing cartoon.
Rosemary's Baby *shudders*
I don't do scary movies, I end up getting nighmares... and once after watching a scary movie the night before work (forgetting that I had to walk to work, in the dark, through an isolated stretch of trail through a bunch of trees, conveniently forgetting that it had been nicknamed the rape trail...) erm, kinda lost my train of thought, um, I'll make it short--I ran like mad to work that morning thinking all the time that I was being followed, and wondering if anyone would be able to hear me if I screamed.

Rosemary's Baby is beautifully done. It's so powerful precisely because it's so low-key, and doesn't risk falliing over into kitsch.
Those wonderful Roger Corman films from the 1950s, are great but they're not scary, just delightful over-the-top camp!
I'm surprised Mel hasn't reacted to Helen Mirren in TLGF!

A load of stupid white people trying to sing "praise Jesus" type soul music (with the aid of synthesizers). The wonders of Sunday morning TV...
Edit = Screw it, I'd rather watch Hollyoaks than this...

Just watched a DVD of Memento, Chistopher Nolan's superb film. One of the special features on the disk, although a bit hard to find, is a version of the film with all the scenes played in the correct chronological order.
