Daemonism in real life

The daemon Page is a website dedicated to the study of daemons in real life. Daemonism (also called daemonology) has its roots back with Socrates, who would often speak of a guiding voice in his head, which was never given a name, but which he would refer to as a "daimon." Many people today, especially after His Dark Materials was released, will listen and talk to their daemon; these people are called daemians. The daemon is generally seen as a "mental construct-" they're like the other half of your brain when you talk to yourself. People generally project (imagine) their daemons in animal form. Aside from general info about daemons and daemonism, the daemon Page also has analyses-an explanation of which traits go with which animal.
