BridgeToTheStars.net has its own shiny IRC channel/chatroom! In fact, it has two!
#bridgetothestars – For discussion of His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman, and other ideas.
#btts – For general community chat about everything and anything.

If you're acquainted with IRC, then pop on over to irc.quakenet.org (port 6667), and /join #btts.

For those of you not familiar with Internet Relay Chat (IRC), it's a form of real time chat, mostly used for group discussions (in a "room" or channel), as well as allowing private messaging.

You can connect to IRC using a number of different programs. The easiest ways to reach us are by using our built in webchat, or by using Quakenet's webchat.

If you prefer to connect from a different program, there's a whole selection to choose from! Each have their own look, feel, and options. Some popular choices are:
irssi
Trillian
Pidgin
ChatZilla (a Firefox add-on)
Miranda (Windows only)
mIRC (Windows only)
Colloquy (Mac only)
Adium (Mac only)


Exactly how to connect from each program differs; most sites should have a quick how to for their program. Regardless, the server is irc.quakenet.org, the port is 6667, and the channels are #btts and #bridgetothestars.
