Yes i read it - I love it so much! It was to graphic some parts and her perseption of heaven was wired:
"I think heaven is different to suit different people, here we have a young girl and her perseption is as what a girls of this age at this particular time would be like"

my best friend was rading it in 7th grade, and was telling me about it, and i read the first chapter one day at lunch, and then every day after that i would take her book as soon as we got to school and just sit and read, i had my dad get me a copy of it from the library but he wouldnt let me have it until i finished my assigned reading. it was one of the best books i have ever read.!! i though the idea of heaven was intersting. i have a friend who has a friend who is of a certain religion, and they believe something along those lines too, though i cannot remember what religion it is.....

I thought it was a really original and enjoyable read, but I didn't really get that whole part about , I thought it was pretty random in the context of the rest of the story and I wasn't sure where the author was going with it.
I also found it odd that someone was able to write a whole book narrated from (a relatively Christian sounding) Heaven, without making word nor mention of any kind of God. I guess it would have been really controversial to express an opinion on that one, but it still seemed like a bit of a cop out to avoid it entirely.
I really liked the concept of it though, and it's definitely one that gives you something to think about when you're finished.

its been a while since i read it, over a year, and i dont remember who ruth is, isnt she like, oh wait, shes the lesbian girl right, who got in trouble for drawing naked women? i dont remember how she and susies boyfriend (i forget his name...) because friends. but the part where they switched palces, it was kinda starnge, but i think that maybe susies spirit hadnt quite accepted being dead/in heaven or somehting, and then after that it finally accepted it maybe.......

The Lovely Bones
Has anyone read the book?
I have and I've seen the movie, although they did have to cut out sections of the book due to running time, they really captured the book's spirit! I loved it.

I liked the book but the movie hasn't had great reviews which has put me off from seeing it at the cinema. I'll probably rent it when its out.
