i think it's an absolutely beautiful drawing, but the two of them just don't look how i though they would. but, then again, everyone draws them with long hair and angelic faces, so kudos to you for being different! :) again, VERY nice picture!!

The way you gave them short hair, if you follow me, is like saying "Yeah, they've got short hair(!), as opposed to "..erm, they've got short hair...(?). No question there! Just an observation from a "crazyinsane person".

Not exactly how I imagined them... I thought Serafina Pekkala had long, straight hair, and I thought Ruta Skadi had long, black hair and curls...

*sigh* Where to begin... it is clearly mentioned in the book several times that both witches have long, raven-black hair (at least you didn't make them blond). I also didn't like the fact that you didn't put the witches daemons in the picture (although I except the fact that they could be gone off somewhere). Forgive me for criticizing you so much, it's an amazing picture, but I really don't like how...soft...innocent...plump... Serafina Pekkelalooks good, she just pales in comparison to Ruta Skadi, when she should stand out, even though Ruta Skadi is portrayed as more powerful and averting in the book, Serafina is more..important.

If I may make another comment concerning the drawing...perhaps the witches would be fine featured and beautiful? Serafina looks as if she is a bargirl...pretty, not sophisticated.

wow! First of all you're a really good drawer! I luv your art because you draw what u think the characters will look like and not wot they are described as in the book! I think u captured both the characters of Ruta and Serafina! They look great wiv short and i admire your bravery at posting a picture which is bound to produce controvertial comments. It really gives their beauty a twist, coz most people think that witches can only be beautiful wiv long hair-they look great wiv short hair 2, even if thats not wot is sed in the book. Excellant portrayal- Ruta Skadi looks really imperious and commanding-powerful and proud 2 . Serafina holds the same expression as i imagined her in one scene, sad, wise, lips parted and not always fierce, but powerful in not the usual way. They both look really pretty in a different way-luv the flowers! Got the cloud pine in aswell!

AMAZING drawing. love your style. i think the short hair suits ruta skadi excellently. its a shame that people have to attack your artwork because it doesnt fit with their own views. also a shame that they feel the need to use the comments space to argue with each other. and to bitchily point out petty spelling mistakes because they feel embarresed at getting told off. really unecessary and pathetic.

(agree wiv above) you've got such accurate ideas of dimensions and shapes and scale, and the way noses look from different angles, and the way eyes are formed, and you don't follow a text book style of drawing in which u have to put in all these fiddly little circles for heads an'all and those weird impressions of noses in pokemon ( whoa- i DO go back a bit !) style drawin. u just draw in your own unique style and make everything seem so real! u have an amazingly rare talent of capturing movemant and character through simply adding a few subtly placed lines. *cheers*

it's brilliant, but the whole effect is spoilt by people who feel the need to use this space pointlessly about past comments, and also to speak before realising nobody had attacked anybody's artwork in the first place, the arguements were not irrational, and that there was no need for such hasty 'commenting'. I think these drawings are wonderful. It's not how I imagined them to be,but there still just great. They remind me of Roman women and I find them just awesome. Realistic also.

Brilliant drawing. I always imagined them with long hair, but thats me. Serafina Pekkala looks more like what I imagined Ruta Skadi to look like: with the freckles, eyes and fringe and being the prettier and younger one.

I love the short hair. Nothing in the books say that every single witch had long hair, or dark hair. So this is a great mix of gender (femme, andro, butch, etc). And great expressions!
