The reason that he looks american is that he's wearing clothes that are too big for him, he's wearin scater shoes with a round kneck top, people in the UK dont dress like that in general. I think it's a decent drawin but utterly unlike will. Will has never been happy in his life so why has he got an arrogant smirk all over his face? and the reason why looking american is bad is that he is english. Sorry if americans have never heard of the best university in the world. OXFORD and lyra psends time in LONDON. Why do u think everything is set in america. The best things; music, literature, are british. But I suppose the rest of the world is just padding to you.

Well everyone is a bit patriotic .. if thats a real word. I mean I am from Denmark which I don't think any of you have heard of.. It's a very small country actually east from England. But I am proud of it. And well it is right that many great things comes from america, and many countries copy a lot from it. But we all have something from our country that we like and are proud of. So my point is.. Let's not disguss which country is the best, because there is some good and bad in all of them., And as for the picture .. I doesn't matter what country it looks like he is from.. He look good to me no matter his origin .. But as said, perhaps not that much as I pictured he would be..

I think this picture is very well done and would be perfect for Will Parry if 'His Dark Materials' were made into an animated series. Regarding Will's "arrogance," as he is what we in the US would call an "action hero," the 'tude he projects is entirely appropriate. But Will's 'tude is definitely British. Like a young John Steed, Simon Templar or James Bond. So, let's just enjoy the world(s) Mr. Pullman created for us without ruining it with any in-your-face nationalism.
