actually nowhere sais that the knife should be gold....the alethiometer and amper spyglass should be gold if you remember....the knife is silver and the book claimed so if you remember...the problem with the kife is that it is too short an d in the book it was so long that nobody could see the end of it...Actually I'm sorry but I don't like this picture because you haven't showed the propriate feelings and characters.......and the colours are very vivid!(I apologise gor my mistakes but I'm from greece and I'm not very good... :-))

the knife wasnt so long that nobody could see the end of it, the one edge that will used for other worlds couldnt be seen
