aw wow this is really good. Nice use of colours. I like all your cartooniness and stuff. This is real good. The only problem is, where is pan and the other 2 girl's daemons? (well done for remembering the doll also)
KittyKat: on 10/18/2006
Wow, it's brilliant! But yeah, where are their daemons?
Lizzietiffon01: on 10/18/2006
hey brill! suppose the other daemons could b behind their backs or something...i like how u made the girl with the rabbit daemon show the same kind of suprised nature as her daemon. i love the colouring in this picture- it's very neat and bright and gives the drawing a warm feel. u remembered the doll as well! the folds on the bed and in their nighties are very acurate! is this the bit when Lyra first wakes up from the drugged sleep? U really captured her suprise and confusion, but i didn't think that the others would be so happy and the room so colourful with the girl's in pink nighties. Don't get me wrong-i luv this pic, but it seems a bit too cheerful. i love your drawing style-kind of cartoony and vivd at the same time. love to c more of your art!

pan is a moth on the bedstead glittercloud
Helena Fenandes: on 10/18/2006
Ok, I have an explanation for not drawing the other 2 girl's daemons. I have read HDM in Portuguese (Brazil). I don't know if anything was cut in the translation, but in my version of the first book, their daemons do not appear in that scene. Besides, although Annie's daemon is in the form of a fox most of the time, I could not be sure in what form he was in that moment. I also did not know the form of Bella's daemon in that scene (chapter 14). So I did not draw them.
About Pan, I did draw him. But he is almost, well, "camouflaged". He is on Lyra's bed, right behind her head. I supposed he was a moth in that scene, because it says he was flying. Besides, he usually assumes that form. By the way, only now I realize he probably should have four wings, instead of two...
Finally, thank you all for your praises!
Wow, this comment is long!

Wow, this comments are coming quickly!
Lizzietiffon01, I agree with you and I understand what you mean. I also didn't imagine this scene so colourful and cheerful. Actually, I wanted to make beige and brown nighties, but I had already coloured the floor and the wall, so it would be too "same coloured". By the way, I didn't realize the girls seemed so happy. I tried to make them curious, surprised and interested about Lyra. Anyway, thank you for appreciating my drawing. And in case you prefer it less colourful, please check the B&W version of it.
Again, thank you guys for your praises!

u really pay attention to the books, and all the details within them. i now have another reason 2 respect u.
Kyrillion: on 10/18/2006
This is lovely - and accurate! To all those getting stressed about the missing daemons, they were by the door, playing lookout! Pay attention :) I love it when artists depict the less obvious scenes - and it's nice to see Annie, after whose daemon I've named myself! Well done, great picture.

I love the pic. it's cool how you put cartoonieness and realism in the same drawing. I know almost everybody elso said that, but it's really intrieging. And i love your attention to detail.
For some reason i imagined them in green nighties

Ah, this is really good, my dear! You're certainly put in a lot of work into it, what with all the colors, and all. Very nice job, I think. Keep up the good work.

thankyou for the good comments you slimy nincompoops
Helena Fernandes: on 01/24/2007
Sorry, people, but it seems there is an imposter here. The "Helena Fernandes" above is not me, it's probably someone who can not draw well, so pretends to be a bridgetothestars.net artist. I feel pity for this person, but I suppose it's probably a poor child who doesn't have anything better to do, so I forgive this child. By the way, I did not even know the meaning of "nincompoops"! I had to look it up in a dictionary, considering my mother tongue is Portuguese!!! Besides, I use capital letter when I start a sentence and, considering "you slimy nincompoops" is a vocative case, I would use a coma before it (if I was rude enough to say that). Of course, I would also use a period at the end of the sentence. All these things prove that the imposter above is not me. Anyway, before I forget:
Thank you for the good comments, nice people.

I'm really sorry about the impostor Helena, if it happens again please let me know and I'll see what I can do to stop this in the future.
As for the impostor, this is not a place for immaturity and quite frankly you should be embarrassed about such childish behaviour. Please do not do it again.

same for this painting as for the drawing I posted a comment before, although I think the picture is too colorful for the atmosphere of the scene. well done, anyway.
