(yey 1st!) oh, wow! it's perfect: the monkey is evil, (lol) Coulter is beautiful. and of course it doesn't hurt that the drawing is AMAZING.

ooooooo-that monkeys vile! You can clearly see the contrasting sides of Mrs Coulter; the evil, vicious monkey and the beautiful, charming, apparently gracious lady! Great job on Mrs Coulter! She looks so sweet and good while the slight twitch of the lip is the only thing to show a little of her cunning! Also she is very glamorous with the sleek shining hair (i luv the heightlights on it!) and the pearl necklace. As i sed before-amazing people drawing skills!

I just realized;she reminds me of the madonna, in a few paintings. it's mostly the position of the eyes and her head...I guess that's appropriate, as she's Lyra's mother...

Thanks for the kind words! Awhile back I started drawing a daVinci-esque portrait (what with the angle of her head, neck, etc), and then I realized I was drawing Mrs. Coulter. So I had to add the golden monkey. I just picture her to be beautiful, so sweet and angelic looking (afterall, she lured away all those kids because she was so lovely and kind to them), and her daemon is the only way you can tell how she is truly feeling... Apparently he did not want to have his portrait drawn. ;)

Wow, that it sooo good! The eyes are drawn amazingly well, and the lips look so real to! Mrs Coulter looks so peaceful and gentle and you've shown her different character really well throught the very evil looking monkey!! :D
Plus her hair is amazing, and the way you've made it shiny!!

Kinda of how i imagined Mrs coulter to be like.. She looks so innocent, beautiful and graceful, where as her evil side is shown through her deamon.
