looks more like mary to me. I doubt she would have worn shorts...(how scandalous!) and tennis shoes probably didn't exist in lyra's world. She also looks a bit happy, but I know precisely what part of the book you were illustrating (I think).

why has she got a gun? I dont remember a gun. but i suppose there is some sort of weapon around in the story ive missed. Theres another one here where she's holding a knife

Am I the only one that likes this? Also am I the only only one who knows why she has a pistol. I think this was excellent and a woman running around in a skirt toting a pistol would look more out of place than what Will has done so all in all I would say aces
on the drawing although the gun is a bit small
