I'm afraid of being robbed, not because stuff would get stolen, but because there would be an intruder/psychopath/rapist in my home perhaps armed and desperate.

Whenever I was home alone in my apartment last year I would lock up everything and stay up as late as I could until I fell asleep on the floor or something with all the lights on (but my roommates were convinced our neighbors were drug dealers, so who knows).

- crickets
- steep and narrow stairs (oh my god, I just die when I have to climb stairs...)
- needles and any other sharp objects
- old and rickety lifts
- my night terrors and sleep paralysis
- disaster sirens
- death and disease

Also, I have a very irrational fear that someone will drive by, and shoot at my house, then one of the bullets will enter my window and into my head. [laughs] Paranoid, much? XP

Glad I'm not the only one. [laughs] Everyone looks at me like I'm some sort of moron when I hesitate on stairs.

Augh, it's even worse when you're in an arena, with no real railings...there's nothing to hold onto...oh my god. I think I nearly had a panic attack at my brother's graduation because of that.

Oh yes. In school, the stairs are always crowded. I always freak out and have to hold the banister on the way down. Even if I have to knock people to get to it. My mum's friend has stairs without bansiters and I can't walk up them. I just start hyperventilating.

Normally stairs don't frighten me, any more. We had stairs in primary and they were narrow and I hated them, but I got over it in high school. But what I really hate are stairs with holes between the steps. When I was little there were stairs like that in a shopping centre, and I was always scared of falling into the cracks. Sounds silly, but true.

i have abit of a fear of needle... medical needles that is... i dunno what it is... i know they don't hurt but i still hate them with a passion... to make it weirder i can stick a needle through the bit of skin at side of your nails and can pop blisters and put needle into any dead skin fine... think it might be somit to do with having some1 else come near me with a needle :/

i do get over it when it matters though :p

Fears and Phobias

Postby The Almiester » Sat Aug 12, 2006 10:26 am

What really, truly scares the bejesus out of you? Come on, I want to know. Don't worry, I'm not going to bribe you. Discuss your fears and phobias in this thread. The crazier and more irrational the better.

Just merged the two threads there, please look around a bit before starting new threads Almeister, as in this case there was already an existing one.
