{"id":1198,"date":"2011-08-01T22:17:54","date_gmt":"2011-08-01T22:17:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bridgetothestars.net\/news\/?p=1198"},"modified":"2011-08-01T22:17:54","modified_gmt":"2011-08-01T22:17:54","slug":"pullman-campaigns-against-britains-feral-elite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bridgetothestars.net\/news\/pullman-campaigns-against-britains-feral-elite\/","title":{"rendered":"Pullman campaigns against Britain&#8217;s &#8216;feral elite&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Philip Pullman has signed a call for a &#8216;public jury&#8217; in Britain, which would take away the power from the &#8216;feral&#8217; elite who seem to run the country. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.guardian.co.uk\/politics\/2011\/jul\/31\/public-jury-feral-elite-letter\">The call<\/a> blames three significant crises of recent times -\u00c2\u00a0the MPs&#8217; expenses,\u00c2\u00a0the bankers&#8217; bonuses and\u00c2\u00a0the phone hacking scandal &#8211; on\u00c2\u00a0politicians, bankers and media moguls, who, left to their own devices, &#8220;could not regulate themselves.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The group, whose signatories include\u00c2\u00a0Greg Dyke, former director general of the BBC,\u00c2\u00a0says that 1,000 citizens should be selected at random to sit on a public jury that will propose reforms to banking, politics.
