It's a good 10 years since I did any (apart from little part-time thingies) and I never want to do another big 'un again. I still occassionly have dreams where I'm fretting about dissertations  horrible.

they haven't given us our exam schedule yet, but it'll be the last week of january / first week of february minus the friday. my exercise science exam will be on the thursday, and as easy as it is, it'll manage to be hell (diagrams!). physics somewhere (i have to start making my cheat sheet - perfectly legit, but they jst call it that for some reason), calculus somewhere (i have no excuse to do badly, i already did half the course last year), and history (easy, yay!).

Well, you are just giving the examiner a hand job.

The thing about exams is that they're designed for efficiency with standardisation, ludicrous time limitations, obscenely formulaic mark schemes, all that.

This is completely contrary to all but administrative logic, and unfortunately, administrators administrate.

I have Physics on Wednesday and Literature on.. Tuesday I think. Really ought to do a practice exam, but don't know where to get one form.

Moan moan moan moan moan. Back later, off to a panto in a minute! I'm an invited guest of an invited guest of a big local radio DJ, so I'll be sitting in the (sort of) VIP area with the DJ's Z-List celeb friends. :)

Ooh, what a wonderful thread. Exactly what I need.

My chemistry exam is on Tuesday, and from what I've seen of the practice tests we've gotten, I'll end up with a C on it or something comparably abysmal. And if I don't want to do that, I have to memorize four pages of fine print about predicting products from the bane of my existence, complex redox reactions. Ugh.

And the rest of my exams are Wednesday and Thursday. But as our band director has decided not to give a final, and my calc teacher gave us a take-home test instead, and the health exam is designed to let the average student pass with a respectable grade, I've only got two to really worry about there.

And nobody cares... but I don't either, so that's OK.

Wow Cookie, that really sounds like you're dreading your exams, you have my deepest sympathy. :P

I have my English exam tomorrow. It's over Song of Solomon, by Toni Morrison, Midnight's Children, by Salman Rushdie, Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, and China Men by Maxine Hong Kingston. Three full-length essays in 2 hours on topics we haven't been given yet.

Then on to my calc exam, which is going to be horrible. *shudder* also, I'll be the first class to take it so no one can tell me what's on it.

Tuesday it's French (easy) and APUSH (a bitch)...Wednesday I have Latin, a three hour break, then Chemistry. oh dear.

I'm quite happy with my exams. Only about 1-2 a day, gives me a much-needed lie in, and I get to piss about during 'study' leave. bonus!

Firstly, it's a 'term' over here.

Secondly, bloody mocks.

Colleges here are all different, its terms some places, or quarters, or trimesters...I just happen to go to a place that has semesters.

I'm guessing mocks are the equivalent to midterms? Tests you take halfway through your classes?

Anyways, I've got no significant tests to worry about until March :P

<will point and laugh in march>

in the nicest way possible.

They're the tests to test whether you're ready for your GCSE's. And to see what paper you go in for, I think. And they count on your final mark if you miss the actual GCSE.
