Well, if Satanists can demand equal 'rites', and even sillier Australians try to get Jedi recognized as a religion, why don't you convert to Zorastrianism? It's ancient and real. You could demand the right to light fires all over the place.

C'mon, we had a much better go at it here. Though after reading that, I wish I'd put Church of Free Love instead.

yeah, I read about that when I was bored and on the wap at supper. The title of the article, "Hobbit joins human family tree" just jumped out at me.

no linkage, but there really are some messed up people out there.

at the end of summer, there was a beach volleyball championship thingy going on at one of the beaches. fortunately, no one was hurt, but that morning they discovered (after fine-combing) twenty-something razor blades stuck in wooden blocks in the volleyball courts. no one's been arrested for that yet.

second incident, in brampton (greater toronto area) i think, a family went to a playground in the morning to find shards of glass glued to the monkey bars and such. fortunely, no one got hurt there either. some fifteen year old turned himself and his buddies in a week later.

third incident, more recently, there was a bouquet of silk roses lying on the ground, and a six-year old picked them up on the way to school. there was glass and stuff glued to it again, and her hand got all cut up.

boo messed up people... and they're putting so much effort into doing it. the glue in the playground was expensive modelling glue. it would have taken some time to stick all those razor blades into the wood... and the bouquet, that must have taken some effort.

<freak out>

See, these are the kind of people that it's OK to punch in the nads. Normally i wouldn't condone punching below the belt, but sadists need to be shown.

Looking at the figures, I think it's high time we declared The War Against Bus Crashes. They kill hundreds more Westerners than terrorism every year. It's an worldwide problem, no country is safe, and we all have to work together in these troubling times to defeat the insidious menace of international buscrasherism.

"AMMAN, Jordan -- At least 10 people, eight of them British tourists, have been killed in a bus accident in southern Jordan, officials said."

I understand having that in a British headline, but in an American one it just reads to me like

"AMMAN, Jordan -- eight British tourists, (and two darkies, but who cares about them), have been killed in a bus accident in southern Jordan, officials said."

I think we need to also declare The War Against Car Crashes. Just about the most dangerous thing a person can do is to ride/drive in a car. There's about 800 wrecks a day.

I mean, I just made up the 800 wrecks a day thing. That's not a real statistic, there's 10 times that many.

On X-ray request cards, 'FB' means 'Foreign Body' (e.g. glass, skelph). Or ~*iguana*~ Bush. Or ~*iguana*~ Blair, as my mum says.

You've got to admire The Grauniad. It's on-the-pulse as usual.

That's genuinely worrying. If only internet petitions had any effect whatsoever, I would start/find one. I suppose there's are always the letter to 10 Downing Street..
