I think this one is going to turn out to be about the same length as the previous Johanna Chen story,
A Child of Glory, so you won't get any closure just yet

Arrgh!!! Ah well, at least I won't hafta weep when it ends, like I have my other faves...... I suppose unrequited closure is better than the grief of a series comin to an end.

So - I've recast the whole story into the present tense. Why? Mostly because I hated the part that was in the pluperfect (where Jo was arguing with the Comrades). But also because
A Child of Glory was in the present tense as well and I feel that's the best way to tell Johanna's story.
Anyway, that's the way it's going to be from here on in.
