I thought this would be a cool idea.

I looked around and didn't see anything like it so figured, why not?

The idea is that if you want to enter you have one weeks to write a poem about HDM. Then I or a mod or somebody will add a poll with all them poems in it. Then there will be another week for everybody to vote for their favourites (don't vote for yourself).

Then at the end a winner is declared and vouila! (spelling?)

Anyway happy.. poeming

There was a young lady called Lyra,
Who hoped the whole world would admire her.
She led a fast life,
Met a boy with a knife,
But decided that marriage would tire her.

We stand behind our whispering veil,
Our eyes ragged our faces pale.
Melancholic, in the dark we mourn
We lack any permanent form.
Circling us in endless rings,
Are horrid angels, stripped of thier wings.
Our hopes and dreams are gone away,
The lie by our feet beneath the clay.
For this is were souls come to rest,
The good, the bad, and all the rest.

it's beautiful Surge...

All the doorways soon to be sewn
Our lives will lead in directions unknown
The future of all depend us to part
Though it is painful in my heart
The path before our feet will decay
A new one replaced will always lay

I'm not much of a poet as Surge here... :D

Marching through snow
Leaving trails of powder,
Hunting for food
Tired cries grow louder

Slice through the skin
With claws red furious,
Starlit sun shines
On a world white glorious

How can one so close to heart,
Be suffering so far apart?

Never will they be the same:
daemon, spirit, self and name.

What evil force hath broke the tie,
Which would bond them 'til the day they die?

This deed done in the name of their Lord,
Hath pierced more deeply the heathen sword.

A quartet of couplets.

EDIT: By the way, a week has been up five days ago, might we extend it as we've gotten...two on-time entries? I guess I lost track of the days, and I don't want to change the rules...wait a minute, I do. Please do have mercy on Jamie, Nimue and me and reconsider, Mr. Surge?

I like the couplets, I've never been good at them they're great...

I guess in this case they're not really couplets, just a poem with an "aa" "bb" rhyme scheme.

Oh i bypassed the week or whatever rule a long time ago... the way i see it we've got until we have enough entries...

Don't know how much that is... lets just wing it and see what happens..

I really liked the couplets....welll it has definitely been over a week so this is just for the heck of it I guess.

He longed after feeling her hand, in his own.

He wondered if she thought of him,
Everytime the air grew cold.

Thoughts forced out shudders and tears, hes grown old.

Life for him never improved,
Upon sealing that fold.

Longing to call out her name,
Years passed yet nothings the same,
He had hoped for more.

Sadness crept over his face,
As he came to that beautiful place,
And a park bench tucked under a tree
Sang silent their song.

Sitting down he thought only of her,
With a solemn stare,

He pondered his hand in her hair.
What he would have, could have endured.

 hmm not that great i guess but considering time constraints...if you can *almost* sing it then try i guess. i had fun writing it! lol later

She hit me,
Like the speeding train,
Her energy, her spirit,
Pulverised my heart in pain.

She burns like the sun,
I can't look away,
She took me down that garden path,
And led me astray.

A burning angel,
Dressed in white and gold,
Broke two hearts with one stroke,
And she let my despair unfold.
