so many people seem to like them so I made a poll (I added Hullaballo just to see if anyone would actually pick it...)

Origin of Symmetry, DEFINITELY.

In order of preference:
OoS
Showbiz
Absolution
Hullabaloo

Origin for me.
But then again, I am biased because it was the first album that was never removed from my ears.

Oos, Abs., Hulla, Showbiz.
But then again, I have Deadstar / In your world so I'll stick that between Abs. and Hullabaloo.
I also have singles, yet I won't complicate matters.

But.. but... Showbiz has two of my favourite tracks - Showbiz and Hate This & I'll Love You. I'm not that fond of Sober and Overdue, but I love the rest of it. It's so much more.. happy.. than the others.

It's happening soon, it's happening soon
Its scent has been blowing in my direction

Sooo boppy, but I love it.

I agree with Showbiz being happier, except Falling Down.
I loved Sober, Showbiz and Sunburn. (s's)

But I just loved the abstractness of Hullabaloo.
Ashamed screamed through my ears, Recess mellowed me out and Hyperchondriac Music blew my mind.

And the fact I have nearly all the songs off OoS live, that helps.

I think they have never topped Showbiz.
OoS came close.

OoS took them from the shadow and scepticsim of being a second Radiohead and pushed them into their own category, instead of being Radiohead wannabes.
As the critics called them.

There is certainly nothing wrong with taking some influence from Radiohead. People who called them the next Radiohead where paying them a huge compliment.

I agree, yet, they would then always be in their shadow.

So I saw OoS as a huge step forward.

Ageed. I had great respect for them how they shook the Radiohead thing off like it was nothing.

Its amazing how you can argue a point rationally, and get a result.

That's the difference between an argument and a discussion I think.

Yeah, where is Max? I'd have said Absolution some months ago, but I've swung towards the norm now, OoS. Showbiz waaay at the bottom, it's really not as good as their later stuff.

absolution, but probably because i've only gotten into muse recently, and only have absolution singles to get excited about when they play it on the radio (because they're not very much muse in canada).

does anyone else thing muse have weak ending tracks? I have to say that megalomania, ruled by secrecy and hate this and i'll love you were in my opinion not much compared to the rest of the albums they were on.

Hate this and I'll Love You is very good, because of the way it wraps the album up.

Ruled By Secrecy is one of the lesser tracks that they have done yes.

But Megalomania!
Epic to say the least.

I've only just realised this, and I've had the album for 3 years.
absolution, but probably because i've only gotten into muse recently, and only have absolution singles to get excited about when they play it on the radio (because they're not very much muse in canada).
They're not very Muse England either on normal radio stations.
Radio 1 likes Hip hop and urban more than rock or alternative.

After most on here seemed to love them I listened to some Muse on Napster (which my dad foolishly pays for). They only had Absolution, but I quite liked it, although I feel like I should hate it for some reason. Hysteria, The Small Print, Time is Running Out and Thoughts of a Dying Atheist being my favourites probably. Actually I'd have to say Absolution is my favourite at the moment (maybe because I heard it first) although Bliss and New Born are bloody excellent. Particularly New Born when it goes into uber mode 3 minutes in. Some of the tracks seem overly dramatic, though...sorry.

Yea, I don't really like Showbiz much, although the Uno intro is good.

I think to be overly dramatic is some of the point with Muse.
They try to be as extravagant as possible.

I really enjoyed the big white balls falling from the ceiling.

Bliss Is what I want played at my funeral as people go in.
Feeling Good is what I want on the way out.

So people know my life wasn't a complete waste.

Sing for Absolution is great, but I Hysteria is still the greatest bouncing anthem I've ever heard

Ah, I don't like Sing for Absolution as much as the other tracks I mentioned (except the guitar kick in bit). Eee well.

You'd enjoy, Eternally Misseed and Pink Ego Box then.
Or maybe Dead Star and In Your World.

Yep, those I think you'd enjoy.
