Noughts and Crosses, Knifes Edge, Checkmate, Eye for an Eye

The conversation for Noughts and Crosses was set up a few years ago, but didn't really start. I feel that as a group of intelligent book readers this is bad. This is one of the greatest Trilogies of all time (in my opinion) and i feel that it needs recognising.
The Trilogy was so good that i started reading other Malorie Blackman books, and i love them all. So i open this conversation to talk about:
a) The noughts and crosses trilogy
b) Malorie Blackman

I have read the Trilogy.
I loved how it looked at racism in a totally new sort of way.
The way that the world had been turned upside down and then how Malorie had used a form of Hyperbole to blow the circumstances out of proportion was superb.
Which was your favourite?

Definitely Noughts and Crosses.
I preferred having Seph and Callum
Though Knifes Edge and Checkmate are good.
I didn't find Eye for an Eye completely necessary. I read it after i had read the trilogy the first time round, and i only found that it explained a couple of things, but nothing necessary to understand the story.

Absolutely the end of Noughts and Crosses

Oh, yes. Look how obvious brown plasters are on white dolls, I mean they're brown and the dolls aren't, how obvious is that!
Sorry, I found it worse than over-hyped; it was irresponsible with drivel about 'suicide' bombing which, at the time, was known to be hookum.

I remember having a whinge about the whole concept of this series...I think it was here, but I can't remember why.
I trust my judgement though, clearly the books are terrible, even if I don't know why.

I enjoyed Noughts and Crosses, but Knife Edge was terrible. I didn't bother with the rest of the series.

You know there's a new one out as of...um...about a month ago I think. Double Cross. But I agree with Bethan, the entire series after Noughts and Crosses is fairly unnecessary.

Hmmmmm I may have to re-think this.
I'm starting to agree, i just looked at Knifes edge and Checkmate. And they were pretty poor compared to Noughts and Crosses.
But has anyone read any other Malorie Blackman work.
I read cloud busting which i loved.

I think they're fantastic books.
I've never been raised to be rascist but I had never really thought about what it must be like to be to live with that level of rascism directed at me on a day to day basis. The book forced me to really consider rascism from another perspective.
Having said that the books were somewhat redundant for me because i'm not a rascist. I really think that these books should be mandatory in schools because they are so poignant and powerful.

Yes it would allow racism to be seen in a new light, in a format that is bearable to pay attention to.
